Welcome to Victoriana! This wiki is for the development of a Victorian League, with the idea of moving towards creating a real-life organization to support Victorian enthusiasts in re-creating the Victorian era in dress and society. The PROPOSED time span covered by the term "Victorian Era" here is the "long" Victorian age, beginning in 1832 and ending in 1910.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON HISTORICAL ACCURACY:
There are two important rules to this wiki, which are inviolable:
1. All information within the wiki must be historically accurate. Period. No make believe.
2. Historical accuracy may be flexible outside of the wiki (that is, you are free to make believe whatever you want).
Essentially, if you want to mix and match your fashion style or your "persona" to different years within the stated Victorian era, you can; if you want to dress SteamPunk and play-act the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, you can. But what you want to do and the information within this wiki may not agree, and all this wiki is responsible for is distributing factual information. For instance, you can pretend to be Sherlock Holmes's long lost younger sister, but in this wiki, Sherlock Holmes is (and remains) a fictional character. It is allowable, though, to make factual entries in the wiki about recreations of fictional events.
Open to debate is whether entries will eventually be allowed for individuals' Victorian personas (at this time, such entries are NOT allowed and will be deleted). It might be better to create seperate "members wiki" for that. Discussion?
MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA:
The membership to this site is fairly open right now, with the idea that the more, the merrier…or at least, the more productive.
